Progress in liquid metal MHD research

Abstract
Progress in liquid metal MHD research is reviewed, especially on the MHD duct flow problems conducted mainly in Japan. It includes turbulent duct flow, gas-liquid two-phase flow and cavitation, unsteady flow in travelling magnetic field and their applications. It is emphasized that the progress of the computational fluid dynamics has played an important role in the investigation of MHD research. Figs 4, refs 32.
