Peculiarities of the elastic waves excitation in magnetic fluids by laser radiation

Abstract
We have carried out an experimental investigation of the ultrasound excitation in magnetic fluids by pulse laser radiation. The analysis of mechanism and efficiency of opto-acoustic (OA) transformation was presented. The peculiarities of magnetic field influence on OA-transformation and possibilities of the thermo-magnetic sound excitation are discussed. As follows from the laboratory findings the dependence of normalized function of OA-transformation in magnetic fluids with oil and kerosene base on volume concentration of magnetic particles has maximum which depends on elastic, heat and optic characteristics of magnetic fluid parameters. Using the computer method the space distributed function of the attenuation coefficient of the laser radiation in subsurface layers of magnetic fluids was restored. Figs 4, refs 13.
