Abstract
The rheological and magnetorheological behavior of petroleum and transformer oil based magnetic fluids of 50 G to 850 G magnetization were investigated. The preparation method, particle concentration and excess stabilizant content have large effects on the rheological properties. The relative viscosity increase in magnetic field is mainly influenced by particle concentration. Figs 5, Refs 7.
