Hydraulic of induction MHD pump channel with side bars

Abstract
Results of theoretical and experimental investigations of short circuit side bar effect in MHD pumps in region of large magnetic Reinolds number are presented. It is shown that side bars have same influence on velocity distribution s in channel, but there are no essential changes in integral characteristics. Because the wetting problem the essential effect of short circuit side bars should be expected only in region of small magnetic Reinolds number. Figs 6, Refs 4.
