Electrovortex method of transit flow generation through plane MHD channel

Abstract
The mechanism of transit flow generation through plane MHD channel with ferromagnetic core during electric current flowing in liquid metal is considered. It is shown experimentally, that at some cases electrovortex mechanism can create considerable pressure differences between channel input and output and generate transit flow through it. This is enable to create MHD pumps for liquid metals with liquid metal as power supply. Figs 4, refs 8.
