Abstract
In this paper the exact analytical solution of similar problem for circular channel of radius R with the split of finite width 2L on the lateral side of channel is presented. The numerical calculation gives the M-shaped velocity profile in the entrance region of the channel at large Hartmann numbers. The physical explanation of M-shaped velocity s profile is given. Moreover, an asymptotic solution of this problem at large Hartmann numbers (in the limit as ) is obtained. Similar more sharp M-shaped velocity pro-files for plane channel by numerical calculation from author’s work [2] are found for the first time in this report. Table 1, Figs 5, Refs 4.
