Structure of colloidal particles in aqueous ferrofluid

Abstract
Varying D2Ø concentration in aqueous \Fe3Ø4 ferrofluid, containing natural \Fe and 54\Fe, we have analysed the surfactant shell structure by polarised neutron small-angle scattering (SANS), separating the nuclear coherent scattering from incoherent and magnetic component. On magnetic core surface there was found the discontinuous layer of surfactant (islands, covering 30-50\0f grain area). Figs 3, Refs 12.
