Mathematical simulation of hydrodynamical processes in the centrifugal MHD pump

A mathematical model has been developed to represent complex phenomena in centrifugal MHD pumps containing no movable parts. The so-called windingless electrovortex conductive centrifugal MHD pumps exhibit the most promise for metallurgical purposes. In this work, numerical calculations have been performed to get the pressure-flow rate characteristics for these pumps. The obtained numerical data are in good agreement with the results of physical experiments on gallium models of MHD pumps. Figs 6, Refs 12.
