Abstract
This issue of Magnetohydrodynamics pursues the tradition to publish a selection of papers that have been presented during the 4th Ferrofluid Workshop, held in Berlin (Germany) in July 2002. More than 100 scientists attended this workshop which was devoted to an exchange of information between the members of the quickly growing German Ferrofluid Community . Only one year after the International Conference on Magnetic Fluids in Bremen new topics have been presented in almost all fields of Ferrofluid research. Publishing this selection of papers provides a possibility for the international Ferrofluid Community to get an overview about the activities undertaken by German research groups.
