Casting formation by electromagnetic controlling in the liquid metal coolant

Abstract
An experimental stand with systems of control and driving has been worked out to obtain cast bodies of plate and ball shape in the liquid metal under crossed direct electric and magnetic fields. The fields' action allows to regulate an``apparent" specific weight of liquid media. Regimes and conditions for the cast body formation in the liquid metal coolant under the electromagnetic volume force action have been determined. Tables 2, Figs 5, Refs 8.
