Critical values of electrovortex flow parameters in two-layer fluids

Abstract
Dependence of some structural features of elelectrovortex flows in two-layer fluids on the radius of a fusible electrode r0, on the depth of a vessel and on the parameter km - the ratio of fluid layers viscosities - was studied by numerical simulation. Critical values of the parameters were found, at which the connectedness change of the areas of one sign and, accordingly, of the vortical structure of flow happens. The critical values kmc were defined as boundary values of the parameter km intervals. Within the km intervals the solution of the equations for the flow will not be unique. The dependencies kmc on r0 were found. Figs 6, Refs 5.
