Abstract
An experiment on measuring the pressure wave amplitude distribution along the height of a ``cold'' model of the liquid core of a continuous ingot excited by the pinch effect in the upper part of the liquid core is described. An approximately 6.8-fold increase in pressure amplitude was recorded near the model bottom. It is shown that this effect is determined, in the main, by the conical configuration of the liquid core.
