Modelling of MHD flows induced by pressure drop by the method of natural variables

Abstract
A numerical model of flow in a duct formed by rectangular areas has been developed. By the method of steady-state solution a stationary flow in the duct with a cavity exposed to an external magnetic field was found. The influence of the conductivities of fluid and walls was investigated. The dependence of the flow parameters on the boundary conditions for pressure was investigated. The hydrodynamic stream function was calculated. The used algorithm SIMPLER necessary for interactive control of the solution process was analyzed. Tables 3, Figs 2, Refs 11.
