Abstract
Since the invention of ferrofluids more than 45 years ago, many applications of this novel material have been proposed both in scientific papers and in patents. Successful commercial products utilizing ferrofluids have been described in previous publications as they evolved over time. The fluids have kept pace with the trends in technology. This paper presents a number of the most recent applications in such technologies as microfluidics, carbon nanotubes, recycling of scrap parts, mobile phones, innovative sealing, etc. Tables 1, Figs 14, Refs 22.
