Abstract
This paper focuses on an analytical approach to study a cylindrical MHD generator that uses a thermoacoustic engine to apply pressure oscillations of the liquid metal. The fluid motion will induced an electric current in the liquid under the effect of a perpendicular steady magnetic field. The current will be extracted from the MHD channel by induction into a coil surrounding the channel. Few approximations are taken into account in the model, which is based on the Navier--Stokes and induction equations. Tables 4, Figs 6, Refs 14.
