Abstract
The influence of thermal conduction on the properties of the magnetoacoustic wave in thermally unstable media is investigated. Expressions for phase velocities and decrements are obtained in the case of isothermal sound propagation. The spectral amplification condition for magnetoacoustic waves is also defined. In some parts of the solar corona, phase velocities, damping (or growth) rates and cutoff frequencies of magnetoacoustic wave amplification are also calculated. Tables 1, Figs 7, Refs 25.
