Abstract
Melt flow is simulated based on a mathematical model of melt convection in a high frequency magnetic field. The model is given briefly. The induction furnace with a complex inductor is proposed. Melt flows for the heating and surface cleaning modes of the proposed furnace are numerically simulated. Results are given and described. A way of melt flow control during melting is described. The suggested technical solution may help to resolve the problem of the oxide scrab presence on the melt surface. Tables 1, Figs 5, Refs 7.
