Analysis of the transverse end effect in the MHD stirrer for molten metals

Abstract
The paper is focused on the use of MHD stirrers for liquid metals in the furnaces and mixers for the production of metallic alloys. Electromagnetic characteristics of the stirrer and the corresponding circuit parameters are addressed with account of the discrete distribution of the inductor’s current load and manifestation of the longitudinal end effect.
