Experimental research of the multistability of bodies with magnetizable elastomer

Abstract
Deformation of a thin cylindrical body with magnetizable elastomer based on silicone in the magnetic field of a system of two electromagnetic coils is investigated experimentally and theoretically. The existence of three stable equilibrium positions at a fixed magnetic field configuration in a certain range of currents (multistability) is found. The dependence of the elastic properties of magnetizable elastomers on the magnetic field intensity is obtained experimentally and considered in calculations. Figs 9, Refs 10.
