Experimental investigation of the MHD pump with inclined partitions in a flat straight channel

Abstract
The paper presents and discuss results of an experimental study of an MHD pump model with inclined partitions which was described for the first time in [1]. The goal of this work was to find out an optimal design for the previously proposed pump model. The experiments were conducted with an electrodynamic model of the pump. However, this model has turned out to be unsuccessful; changes in channel design have led to a decrease of the P-Q characteristics of the pump. It is also found that the blocking of the notches between the partitions and the closest channel wall causes a decrease in pump performance. Figs 5, Refs 4.
