Lack of agreement between conditions for maximal efficiency and the rated conditions in the design of pumps for maximum efficiency

Abstract
The article discusses the general principles of the optimization of magnethydrodynamic pumps with respect to efficiency. It is shown that the conditions ∂η/∂p = 0, ∂η/∂Q = 0 with p = pn, Q = Qn are not necessary for optimization of a pump.
