An induction pump with a circular pipe
V. M. Krauya
Abstract
Conformal transformations have been used to derive equations for the electric field between the electrodes in a cylindrical channel of a dc conduction pump; numerical integration has given the mean electromagnetic pressure and the current in the pipe. It is found that the current in a cylindrical channel is 1.5-2 times that in a hydraulically equivalent rectangular channel, while the power is less by a factor 1.5-2, other conditions being equal. The relationships are suitable for approximate calculation of the basic parameters of a conduction pump with a circular pipe. Magnitnaya Gidrodinamika 7, No. 4, 133-137, 1971 [PDF] (in Russian)
