Change of torque excited in a rotationally symmetric electromagnetic field

A. B. Kapusta - I. B. Nosovitskaya - T. P. Volkova

Abstract
An apparatus is described for measuring the electromagnetic integral moment acting on a cylindrical liquid column under the action of a rotationally symmetric field. The magnitude of the integral moment is measured as a function of the current intensity of the rotationally symmetric field for relative frequencies ω∗ = 0−10 using the equation of rotational motion of a body about the vertical axis passing through the point of suspension. The experimental dependence of the torque is compared with its theoretical value computed by Simpson's method on a Minsk-22M computer.
