Abstract
The electrical processes in the flow of an anisotropically conducting plasma are studied in the region of a magnetic-field jump. It is assumed that along with the change in the field, the basic properties of the plasma can undergo a jump-like change. The method of the Riemann boundary-value problem for automorphic functions is used to construct an analytic solution in order to explain the basic effects occurring for an arbitrary velocity profile of the flow. Estimates are obtained for the effects of electric current eddies generated in re- gions with a magnetic field gradient on the distribution of electric potentials and the energy processes in MHD channels.
