Magnetodynamic apparatus for heating and electromagnetically casting pig iron

Abstract
A model MDN-12 apparatus has been developed for heating and electromagnetically casting pig iron. Its capacity is 1000 kg, the inductor power is 100 kW, the electromagnet power is 50 kW. the supply voltage is 380 V at a frequency of 50 Hz, and the metal is heated at a rate of c/h. The apparatus has passed laboratory-industrial qualification tests and its operation has been found reliable.
