A flat induction pump of limiting pressure
A. Ya. Vilnitis
Abstract
We consider the theory of a flat induction pump with busbars whose sectionalized parts (following the patent of D.A. Watt) are located in the active gap, while the short-circuited parts are located outside the active gap. Such a construction permits a substantial increase in the pressure per unit length; there exists a maximum of the pressure and a corresponding relationship between the geometric and electrical parameters. Another property is the extension of pumping conditions to velocities exceeding the synchronized velocity. Magnitnaya Gidrodinamika 10, No. 4, 95-103, 1974 [PDF] (in Russian)
