Optimization of the shape of the toroidal model of an MHD dynamo

Abstract
The optimum shape of a model of a steady-state kinematic dynamo is found. Results of a numerical study of the dependence of the critical magnetic Reynolds number on the shape of the model are given. It is shown that this number can be reduced 1.3 times by altering the shape.
