Electrical processes in the end zones of an MHD channel with sectionalized electrodes
A. P. Rashchepkin
Abstract
A theoretical analysis is made of electrical fields and currents in a flow of anisotropically conducting plasma under the assumption of a jumpwise change in the magnetic field in the end zones of ideally sectionalized electrodes. On the basis of the Riemann boundary-value problem, an analytical solution is obtained to the equations of electrodynamics, the use of which allows the distribution of the current density to be calculated, and evaluations are made of the energy characteristics of a channel, as a function of conditions where a constant current is maintained at the electrodes, a constant voltage is maintained, or constant resistances are connected.
