The role of regime parameters at magnetic filtration in a magnetizable packing of steel wool

Abstract
The dependences of purification efficiency of magnetite water suspension on the active length of the packing, the packing density, the magnetic field intensity and the diameter of the steel wires forming the packing have been obtained by means of experiments with a porous magnetizable packing consisting of steel wool. The equation of purification has been written in the framework of a well-developed exponential model of an absorbing shield; it differs from the similar one for granule packings in the reduced role of the diameter of the filtrating elements.
