Abstract
For the case of colloidal fluid type of ER Fluid having ultra fine sphere particles and small yield stress, the hydrodynamic equations with taking into account the exis-tence of particles, namely, the internal angular momentum of a sphere particle and aggregation suggested that the shape of aggregated particles is prolate spheroid were proposed. The theoretical results of shear stress to shear rate in the case of Couette flow in rotating concentric cylinder were compared with experimental data. By these equations the experimental data can be explained well enough to be caught as hydro-dynamic behavior of aggregation of particles in an applying electric field in the flow. Figs 2, refs 11.
