Abstract
The effect of rotating magnetic field (RMF) on the parameters of inertial waves propagating in an arbitrary direction in a quasi-solid-state rotating conductive fluid is studied in induction-free approximation. It is shown that with increasing flux density of the magnetic field the most power-intensive portion of the wave packet is focused along the rotation axis of the fluid and RMF. Magnetic field exerts a considerable effect both on frequency response of an inertial wave and on the damping decrement value. Figs 4, Refs 3.
