Abstract
The achievements in the field of development and production of commercially available strong permanent magnets in the last two decades give a rise for using them in many applications allowing to replace traditional electromagnets. Using these permanent magnets more strong magnetic field can be created in the same air gap in comparison with traditional electromagnets. The main advantages of systems based on permanent magnets are obvious: absence of coils and due to this much smaller overall dimensions and weight; higher efficiency as there is no need to waste energy for creating magnetic field. In present work as a specific example the model of centrifugal electromagnetic pump have been investigated. Figs 4, Table 1, Refs 6. Magnitnaya Gidrodinamika 36, No. 2, 189-196, 2000 [PDF, 0.41 Mb]
