Abstract
In the recent years the electromagnetic fields are widely used for a purposeful controlling of heat/mass transfer processes in semiconductor single crystal growth. Among all possible types of electromagnetic influence on the growth processes the steady magnetic fields are most widely used. The application of the alternating -- rotating, pulsating and travelling -- magnetic fields are presently restricted to the laboratory researches only. Most attention has been paid to the rotating magnetic field. The influence of other alternating magnetic fields and their combinations on hydrodynamics and heat transfer is much less studied. The present work reports on the comparative analysis of the hydrodynamic structures occurring under the influence of different types of alternating fields in the melt-filled vessel and the influence of these structures on the heat/mass transfer in the melt.
