Abstract
Liquid metal flow in a cylindrical container is well known in industrial applications of induction furnaces and stirrers. They are also often used in laboratory scale experimental facilities to verify hydrodynamic numerical models or investigate industrial processes. The authors present experimental results on a Wood metal flow in a cylindrical vessel with a symmetric electromagnetic force distribution and on the flow with a very asymmetric EM force distribution throughout the height.
