Abstract
Three-dimensional numerical simulations of a single rising bubble flow within a long vertical rectangular enclosure in the presence of a uniform magnetic field are carried out. The numerical results exhibit a significant difference in bubble shape depending on the direction of the applied magnetic field as well as on the value of the Hartmann number. The uniform vertical magnetic field elongates the bubble's shape in the field direction, while the uniform horizontal magnetic field makes the bubble flatter perpendicular to the field direction.
