Abstract
We investigated the structure of aqueous solutions of gadolinium triacetate (GTA) + n-undecane with concentrations 0.2 ... 0.5 M using small-angle X-ray scattering. In these solutions, lamellar micelles with hydrophilic and hydrophobic plates of 0.4 nm in thickness and 14 nm in lateral dimension are formed. Magnetic properties of these solutions are studied as well as of solutions of GTA without lamellar micelles and with spherical micelles of sodium dodecyl sulfate. Liquid systems with diamagnetic and paramagnetic properties and lamellar micelle (liquid-crystal) ferromagnetic behavior were found. Tables 2, Figs 7, Refs 16.
