Abstract
In this paper, the influence of the position of the MHD stirrer relative to the crucible on the driven liquid metal flow has been studied both experimentally and numerically. Analysis of the obtained results has revealed that the intensity of the liquid metal flow in the crucible slightly decreases when its bottom is removed from the lower edge of the MHD stirrer inductor.
